I hope everybody is having a great summer. I'm pleased to say that FreshAir Services has made it through our first year of business detailing aircraft in New England and it's going great! Over this past year we've made many new friends, business contacts, and started many new relationships that we look forward to seeing develop in the years to come.

The purpose of this newsletter is not only to keep in touch with you all, but also to let you know about additions to our FreshAir service, to tell you about ways that you can help protect your aircraft's paint and appearance, and to give referrals to some of the great services that we've come in contact with and that many of you might be interested in.

For those of you that don't already know we have setup offices at both Norwood Memorial Airport and Beverly Municipal Airport and have had a great time establishing our service and reputation at each location. Our Norwood office is located at the end of the T-hangars outside gate 2 and our Beverly office is located in the CAT Aviation hangar 4 on the West side of the airport. So if you find yourself at one of these airports in your travels, please stop by and say hello.

Amongst the advances that we have made to our aircraft detailing service over the past year the one that I would like to highlight most is our newly added paint sealing system. This is a service that we have not offered up until this point but I'm proud to say that it is poised to become one of our cardinal services. Paint sealant is applied once the aircraft is completely cleaned and is used to produce a clear hardened shield between your aircrafts newly cleaned paint and the outside elements. The sealant that we used actually bonds to the paint on a molecular level instead of just laying on top of the paint as many waxes or paint sealants do. Our sealant contains Acrylic Polymer blends which creates a negative charge when applied. This causes an exchange of electrons to occur between the product and the surface that it's being applied to. This in turn creates a long lasting covalent bond, which turns our sealant into a hardened glass shield on top of your paint, resulting in a deeper, richer, and longer lasting shine.

During our first year of business we've had many request for a reliable aircraft painting and restoration service. There are so few in the New England area that many of our clients will travels far out of their way to get a job done right. Although we hope to add paint touch-ups as part of our service in the future I made it a priority to find a local reliable painter to refer our clients to. Aero Design Concepts has proved to be just that.

I got the chance to meet John and Tom of Aero Design Concepts this past month and not only are they great guys but they do an awesome job restoring, maintaining, and painting aircraft.  You can take look at their recent work through their website: www.aerodesignconcepts.com.

One of the things that you should really take into consideration before the winter creeps up on us is how you can best protect your aircraft whilst in the harsh weather, especially if you do not have privilege of keeping your aircraft hangared.

The major areas of concern while entering the winter season pertain to the aircraft's exterior as you could imagine. The article linked below goes into detail about 3 areas that should be treated before the winter is upon us. One is cleaning and protecting the paint with a procedure such as our paint sealing system, next are the de-ice boots, which are vital to treat before the cold weather comes, and metal polishing, which really should be maintained as often as possible as it will be that much easier to treat the next time around. We have found with metal polishing in particular that the more consistently it's maintained the easier it is to clean and protect. Each time metal surfaces are polished it removes more and more oxidation from the surface and makes the next time around come out even better than the first. So please, take a quick read through the article below and certainly consider outsourcing the more specialized tasks to FreshAir, where we have the best and most effective products and procedures already available.

Summer is almost over. Protect Now.
